“The mind is not a vessel to be filled, but a fire to be kindled.”
Academics
Middle School
Middle school at LTSA is experiential: students apply skills through collaborative projects, engineering challenges, and frequent field experiences that extend learning beyond the classroom.
Project-based learning creates opportunities for students to make choices, apply their strengths, and forge their identities during these formative years.
Our four-day school week gives students and families freedom to choose Friday learning—whether through our Friday Choice Board activities or experiential opportunities in the community.
Project-Based
Learning
Students collaborate, communicate, and solve problems creatively.
Skills are motivated through meaningful application, not abstract exercises.
High School
Credit
Middle school students can earn high school credit by demonstrating mastery of subject-area standards, allowing advanced learners to progress at their own pace.
Friday Choice Board
Every Friday, students control their learning by choosing activities to complete outside school.
These choices are documented and shared with teachers for accountability.
Community & Culture
Middle School
Middle school students thrive in our culture of acceptance and personal growth. Small classes create strong bonds between classmates and supportive relationships with teachers.
Our four-day week, reduced homework, and mastery-based approach reduce stress while increasing engagement. Students report actually enjoying school, a rarity in middle school years.
Our National Junior Honor Society chapter leads community events throughout the year: spirit week, fundraising, and Big Buddy activities that connect students across grade levels.
