Academics
High School
Academics at Lake Travis STEM Academy’s high school are individualized through our small class sizes and flexible schedule. Since we are a four-day academy, students have the opportunity to take on internships with our partners and dual-credit courses at Austin Community College during each school week.
We don't rank students or incentivize competition. Instead, we focus on collaboration and mastery. Our graduates arrive at college with portfolios, internship experience, and scholarship offers because they've been doing authentic work, not just preparing for it.
Internships and Field Experiences
Our four-day schedule (Monday through Thursday) allows students to intern with industry partners or pursue field experiences on Fridays each week.
Non-Ranking
We don't rank students. This reduces competition and builds a collaborative culture where students are known for their work, not their GPA. College applications include portfolios demonstrating real capabilities.
Dual-Credit
Pathways
Flexible scheduling allows students to take dual-credit courses at Austin Community College that count toward both high school graduation and college degrees.

Community & Culture
High School
Small classes build strong relationships where every student belongs and every voice matters. Older students mentor younger ones as "big buddies," and our National Honor Society chapter leads school events: spirit week, prom, fundraising, and community activities.
Our four-day schedule allows students to pursue passions beyond campus. Students compete in horseback riding, trampoline, and martial arts. They train in mountain biking and perform in community theater. We may not field traditional sports teams, but our flexible schedule creates space for students to develop individual talents, explore diverse interests, and build community in ways that matter to them.
