Mission and Philosophy

We are a private, four day STEM Academy built on experiential learning models. We combine experiential learning with STEM integration. Our mission is to inspire and create authentic curriculum to provide a balanced learning environment, nurturing children’s natural curiosity about their world with student-centered experiences. We are a K-12 school, currently servicing grades K-9.  We are adding a grade every year and will have 12th grade by the year 2020.

We believe in small class sizes to maximize differential instruction and to accommodate a variety of learning styles. We believe in spending less time in traditional classroom mode and more time spent on experiential education, both in and out of the school setting. Our curriculum is STEM centered (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) and emphasizes inquiry-based learning, problem solving, and the development of 21st century skills. We integrate STEM in all of our regular classes even our Art, Music and Writing classes!  LTSA is a part of the Xsci Research Learning Collaborative based out of the University of Colorado, Boulder.  http://www.xsci.org.
